The BPI marketing machine is running wide open this spring as BPI seeks to boost sales coming out of a hectic year. The BPI Longshot tour takes BPI pro staff and their favorite rifles on the road to showcase the long-range capabilities of the updated line.

We’ve been hearing about the additions to CVA’s muzzleloading line since late January, but the long shot tour is one of the first times shooters have been able to get their hands on the rifle. Interestingly, it doesn’t look like we are seeing the rifle in it’s stock Realtree Hillside camo just yet. The rifles seen on the tour have been the “prototype green”, a color I think looks great.

The first stop on the Long Shot Tour was in Texas, where CVA reps shot through a rain soaked day with the latest in CVA muzzleloaders, proving to several skeptics that muzzleloading had come a long way since the days of damp powder ruining a hunt.

Outdoor writer and media strategist Gabriella Hoffman shared a wonderful video covering the event in Decatur. Check it out below if you couldn't attend.

After Texas, the BPI moved north to Montana on May 12, 2021. With better weather and a beautiful landscape as the backdrop, CVA showcased the line once more to praise from people who normally don’t shoot muzzleloaders.

Head of Influencer Relations, Tony Smotherman covered both events on instagram, appearing in live broadcasts, reaching shooters who couldn’t attend, as well as posting some great behind the scenes shots of the event.

I grew up loving to shoot .40 caliber muzzleloaders, so it’s awesome to see them have a chance to be popular with this new generation of modern muzzleloaders. It’s hard to argue with that shot of the target shot with the HTR at 400 yards!

There is a lot of discussion about modern muzzleloading and how it can open doors from modern centerfire shooters to get into muzzleloading. I think events like this show that shooters are willing to try muzzleloaders and will have fun doing it. Good job to CVA and BPI outdoors for hosting events like this to open more doors to muzzleloading and get more shooters involved in the community.
