After a long summer wait, the Knight Peregrine is now released and available to order.

The Peregrine by Knight Rifles is the newest addition to the Knight family. This is a step up in modern muzzleloaders. The 10mm/.40cal Peregrine boasts an impressive muzzle velocity of 3000ft/second and a super fast twist rate of 1-16. Even better is the fact that the Peregrine hits the mark with deadly accuracy guaranteeing every Peregrine an MOA at 500 yards.

Knight Peregrine Price

At $1,569.99, the Peregrine isn’t cheap, but it’s boasting some impressive stats for a production (non custom) muzzleloader. Available now with a “Sage Brush” stock, the Knight Peregrine is sure to turn heads for hunters and shooters across the US.

Originally slated to release June 1, 2021, Knight ran into some production slowdowns due to continued material shortages. These shortages have seemingly affect all major muzzle loading manufacturers.

At the base price, the Peregrine does not ship with a scope or scope mounting hardware. Shooters have the option of adding a Vortex Crossfire 2 3-9x50 BDC or Vortex Diamondback 4-12x40 scope for an additional charge. With the selection of a scope for your Knight Peregrine, you can choose to add compatible mounting hardware for an additional fee.

A fully spec’d Knight Peregrine with a Vortex Diamondback Scope, all the mounting hardware and scope mounting/bore sighting service is priced at $1,855.96

At the time of writing, the Peregrine states a warning of “This item usually ships in 10 to 12 weeks”. It is unknown at this time if this is a hold over from the “Pre Order” phase of the Knight Peregrine launch, or is still the case. I’m hoping the wait time is much shorter, it is Mid-September now and rifle season opens shortly.

Knight Rifles is bringing some great features to the Knight Peregrine, features shooters and hunters have been asking for. Most notably is the breech and ignition system. 209 primers are the most popular muzzle loading primer for modern muzzle loaders and it’s great to see Knight keeping with that trend. Knight is known for their solid breech engineering but the Tungsten Carbide sleeved breech plug is a step up. We’ve been seeing these in the custom and smokeless muzzle loader market for a while now, but not from manufacturers as large as Knight. I expect in the next 5 years, a majority of the high end modern muzzle loaders will feature a tungsten carbide sleeved breech plug.

As the “Year of the .40” continues it’s great to see Knight’s Peregrine available. While the release is exciting, it will be great to hear from shooters around the country as they arrive and head to the range.

Editor’s note: On review of the Knight Muzzleloaders Website, Muzzleloaders.com, I’ve noticed the Knight 500 is no longer available or shipping. We don’t want to speculate, but I find it odd the 500, one of the most accurate stock muzzle loaders we’ve seen in recent time is not being sold. Could this indicate an update to the 500 coming soon? We will have to see.
