Richard Allen Galonek was born February 26, 1954, to Adam and Margaret Galonek in Southbridge, Massachusetts and passed from this world to meet his Lord on February 24, 2022.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents Adam and Margaret Galonek, his sister Elizabeth Galonek and grandson Richard Gregory Allen Galonek.  He is survived by his wife Tammy Galonek, brother Ed Galonek and wife Ann, his daughters Kristie Galonek and Misty Bounds, his sons Greg “Whale-Baby” Galonek and wife Stefanie and Steven Bounds and his wife Ashley.  Richard was blessed with 16 grandchildren (Zachary, Kaila, Terence, Brandon, Rebecca, Sydney, Ethan and Wife Angie, Adriana, Richard, MJ, Jonathan, Abram, Brody, Wyatt, Mason, and Bryce), 2 great grandchildren (Amir and Royce), nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Richard moved to Texas in 1979 and hired on with Sears and Roebuck where he worked in various technician roles over his 35 years of service.  Richard met the love of his life, Tammy Bounds, in Dickinson, Texas in 1987 and they were married on December 16, 1989.  Richard and Tammy lived in Dickinson until just before his retirement in 2016 when they purchased a beautiful country home on 10 acres just outside of New Baden, Texas.

Richard turned his life over to Christ not long after he and Tammy were married and was a faithful Christian throughout the remainder of his life.  He was a man of character and integrity, immovable in his faith and dedication to his family.

Richard was an avid outdoorsman and historian who enjoyed making clothes, weapons, and tools from the “American Fur Trade Era”. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed trading his wares with friends at their weekend rendezvous.  Richard just felt at home in the woods whether he was camping, hunting, fishing, trapping or just out taking photographs.

All those who knew Richard can attest that he had a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed cracking jokes, harassing his friends and family to get a laugh, and doing crazy things on a dare.  He was always a kind and gentle man who had a deep and genuine love for pretty much everyone.

Richard was a godly man, a loving father and husband, a brother in Christ, and a great friend to all that knew him.  While we are deeply saddened by our loss, we can take comfort in knowing that he is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Family said Richard would love to see his skinner friends in period attire. But that is not required. However one request from his wife: No breechclouts in the church.
