American Longrifles Forum shares March 2022 Postal Match

One of my favorite online communities, the American Longrifles Forum, has shared the details for their March 2022 Postal match. For those unaware or new to the sport, a postal match is a match set up for everyone to shoot at home or at their home range without everyone needing to travel to one location to participate. I’ll be shooting in this month’s match myself, and encourage you all to as well.

Special thanks go to D. Taylor Sapergia for organizing this month’s match for the forum.

For March, we'll use a target we've shot before, ie: #10138, p 10 on Targetz.com.

Here's the link: http://www.targetz.com/targetzlib/10138.pdf

It's a four quadrant target, two black, two white, opposing each other.Five shots for score. 1 Shot in each of the four quadrants, and 1 precisely in the centre.

Each of the quadrant shots gets a value of 5 points, and the centre shot receives five points for each of the quadrants it touches, for a possible 40 points total.

The four shots in the quadrants need to be half ball in to score, and each quadrant can receive only one shot each, except for the final centre shot which simply has to touch to score 5 points for each quadrant it touches. T

wo shots in one quadrant, apart from the centre shot, cancel each other for a score of 0.I hope that's not too confusing.

One last thing: shoot this offhand, sitting, or prone at 25 yards.

I’ll be shooting this match this month on the I Love Muzzleloading Youtube channel so you can see how bad I can do! Even if you aren’t going to post your target on the forum, send it to me via email and we’ll compare scores. Happy shooting!
