Art DeCamp teaching Basic Horn Working and Advanced Horn Working at Conner Prairie, October 2022

Master Horner Art Decamp will be teaching two classes this October at the Armsmaking Workshop at Conner Prairie in Fishers, IN this October.

Basic Horn working will be October 3 to noon on October 5, 2022. In this class we will focus on making loading blocks, short starters or other related accoutrement for the muzzleloading hunting pouch.

Advanced Horn working will be noon October 5 thru end of day on October 9, 2022. In this class we will be making a North Georgia style southern banded powder horn with horn or antler tip. Learn and practice the horn work and turning skills for this advanced type horn.

Art DeCamp specializes in the authentic Replication and historically accurate Restoration of powder horns. He is recognized as a Master Horner by the Honourable Company of Horners; and is highly skilled at the craft of using horn as a medium for a wide range of horn items including powder horns, cups, utensils, and other historical items. Art is also available for identifying and appraising original antique powder horns and muzzle loading rifles.
