Brandon Herrera shares blackpowder revolvers with 500,000 fans

Muzzleloading has been a small niche within the larger shooting sports and gun communities for many years now, but every now and then our beloved blackpowder arms get featured by some of the “big personalities” in the firearms world. This week, muzzleloading got some press by “The AK Guy”, Brandon Herrera.

Brandon’s video is more focused on the definition of a firearm by the ATF, the federal agency governing firearms in the United States, and how blackpowder guns are seen as antiques and not technically firearms in the eyes of the federal government. Local state laws will vary as Brandon states in the video. What’s great about this feature though is that Brandon walks his viewers through the function of a cap and ball revolver and shows us how they work. It’s not a detailed overview, but Herrera’s style keeps a younger audience engaged and primes them with enough knowledge to begin researching themselves.
