Muzzleloading World Championship, Verona, Italy | August 25- 31, 2024 | MLAIC

From August 25 to 31, 2024, the 30th Muzzle Loading World Championship of the Muzzle Loaders Associations International Confederation-MLAIC will take place at the Valeggio shooting range near Verona, Italy. The last World Championship held in Italy was the one in Lucca in 2002, in 2007 there was the European Championship and then five Grand Prix Italian events.

Gianmario Delvò, president of the Consociazione Nazionale degli archibugieri (CNDA, the Italian National Arquebusiers' Association), explains: "All this is the result of the long work carried out over the previous years by a team of people who, with perseverance, self-sacrifice and a good deal of stubbornness, dedicated themselves to laying the foundations to ensure that we could reach this point. If we continue along this path, I am sure that we will do well in the international arena, and will also be able to grow at national level."

Dear MLAIC Delegates, Presidents and fellow shooters,

It’s a great pleasure for me to introduce the Valeggio 2024 World Championships, for which you will find Official Invitation, dead lines and necessary forms in the MLAIC website and in our CNDA as well.

Our last Muzzle Loading event was helt in Parma, about 17 years ago, and we are finally in the condition to organize a new one in Valeggio sul Mincio, a place full of  historical interest, natural beauties, just south of Garda Lake, on the waters of the Mincio River.
Main international airport is Milano Malpensa, with a good highway connection to reach Valeggio in a couple of hour drive.
From there in a very short drive you could reach Desenzano,Verona, Brescia, Venezia, where you could spend your free time walking in the beautiful city centers, or visiting the various historical musuems and sites.
All the surrounding area is dedicated to agricolture and wine cultivation, and it will be easy for you to enjoy good food and wine tasting in the various restaurants and wine cellars.
The private shooting Range Alpha Riders has been created inside a sand quarry, were you could find precision and shotgun ranges for all the MLAIC events, with a very short distance in between them.
All details about positioning of services and facilities in the shooting range will be detailled in a short, but we hope you will be fatisfied by our efforts to let you feel as at home.
If you wish, you are invited to partecipate the MLAIC GP of Italy that will be held April 19th to 21st to test the range, in order to evalute the structure and help us to improve all final details.

30th World Championship – forms and deadlines

The format of the World Championships in Valeggio is spread across the four days of competition: a total of 500 shooters are expected for a maximum of 1,800 performances. The competition program will include all 26 MLAIC shooting disciplines with target distances of 25, 50 and 100 meters. Delegations from almost thirty countries have already secured their presence: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, USA.
