This is an appropriate powderhorn to pair with any flintlock or percussion rifle.

Using a variety of basic hand tools including files, rasps, knives, scrapers and a drill, each student will experience the artistic process of creating their own powderhorn in a traditional manner. Instruction will focus on the marriage of form and function, with the goal of creating an heirloom quality powderhorn that can be carried and used with confidence.

Prior horn making or woodworking experience are not needed. This class is designed with the beginning horn maker in mind. The class will teach horn carving techniques and the principles behind this classic design. Several original and contemporary examples will be on hand to examine.
