Kibler Hawken Design Nearly Complete | 2025 Arrival
Katherine Werre of Kibler’s Longrifles has given us the first update about the Kibler Hawken kit since it’s whisper some time ago.
Katherine has confirmed that the Kibler Hawken is in the works, its design is “almost” done, and she expects it to be released in 2025, the 200th anniversary of the Hawken Rifle.
This is big news for muzzleloading. The Hawken Rifle is a cornerstone for contemporary muzzleloading, with many enthusiasts getting “hooked” with Thompson Center’s Hawken in the 1970s and 80s. The Hawken holds a special place in everyone’s heart, but the TC left many wanting more. Kibler’s aggressive business and marketing strategy combined with their beginner-friendly, historically accurate product design generates a lot of potential.
2025 is set to be a big year for muzzleloading, 250th anniversary events are starting, AND it’s the 200th anniversary of the start of Jacob & Sam Hawken’s shop in St. Louis. Bob Woodfill has announced a special educational display at the NMLRA Spring National Shoot, Thompson Center continues to speak to the return of their Hawken, and now some confirmation that the Kibler Hawken DOES exist and IS coming.
I’m always positive about muzzleloading, but wow, 2025 is set to be a great year for the sport, and the people that make it possible.
