“The Horner’s Bench” Forum relaunched to promote Horn related traditional craft education

Horners and soon to be horners can rejoice, “The Horner’s Bench” forum is being ressurected by Stephen Skillman to further promote traditional craft education related to working with horn. In a facebook post shared earlier today Stephen says,

For many years "The Horner's Bench" existed as a forum for the serious horner. It was started by one of my students and he encouraged me to be on it. It grew and hosted many of who are now "Master" horners. The demise of Photobucket made it very hard to post pictures on it so a FB group was started. With my retirement I'm trying to bring it back to life. Lots of tutorials on it and a wealth of information and inspiration. You will have to sign up but it's free.

As social media platforms continue to censor and limit traditional craftspeople for their use of animal materials, firearms related content and more, many are returning to the forums of a pre-social media era of internet activity. These platforms allow for more freedom of expression, and hands on learning.

Forums allow for specific topic discussion and archiving of processes and information for future generations. Thank you so much Stephen for continuing “The Horners Bench” forum. We’re looking forward to participating.
