Knight Peregrine test targets shared online

As we continue coverage for the new line of .40 caliber long range modern muzzleloaders in 2021, we’re excited to see some targets coming forth that were shot with the Knight Peregrine.

Target shot at 100 Yards, 78.5 grains of Blackhorn 209, 250 grain bullet

Muzzleloading industry veteran and former Knight rep Barry Brakebill posted these targets on facebook earlier this week showcasing the results of his time behind the new Knight Rifles Peregrine.

Both targets posted were shot at 100 yards with 78.5 Grains of Blackhorn 209 and a 250 grain bullet.

2021 may be the year of the .40 cal modern muzzleloader, but it looks like it will extend into 2022 as hunters get their hands on these new long range muzzleloaders. 26 out of the 50 US states now allow .40 cal muzzleloaders to be shot during any of their hunting seasons, with more states on the way according to CVA reps online. We can expect the interest in .40 cal muzzleloaders to grow.

The incredible accuracy at longer and longer ranges has hunters and marksmen alike interested in the capabilities of the .40.

We’ll keep you posted as we see more about the Knight Peregrine as it ships out to hunters and shooters around the country. Knight has been building fine modern muzzleloaders for decades, I’m sure the Peregrine will be another in that line up.

Here at I Love Muzzleloading we support all forms of muzzleloaders. We have conversations with enthusiasts all over the country day after day about how new shooters get into muzzleloading, and while trends like the modern .40 cal push this year may feel like a fad to some, it’s these new models that bring new shooters to the community- something the sport of muzzleloading needs.
